The SeaStar Power Assist unit PA12002 can be installed on new SeaStar steering installations or retrofit. Perfect for most boat types, the Power Assist uses an electronically controlled pump to give on-demand power steering. The application is for Heavy 4 stroke outboards, 50HP+ Single outboardsTwin/Triple Outboards, and Inboards where rudder torque makes the wheel effort heavy or uncomfortable. The Maximum Current Draw is 150A Max, 60A Peak (1A System electronics). The tools needed in SeaStar Power Assist unit PA12002 are a 1/2" and 3/4" Open-ended Wrench, Wire Cutters, crimpers, soldering iron, and Screwdriver for attaching the mounting plate.

Number of turns lock to lock remain the same as existing manual hydraulic system. System is compatible with autopilots. Kit includes wiring harness. Notes: For the pressurized/drive lines, SeaStar Power Assist Systems MUST use SeaStar Outboard Hoses and SeaStar Pro Power Assist Systems MUST use SeaStar Pro Steering Hoses. Only the compensating line can be Nylon Tubing. SeaStar Power Assist is recommended for SeaStar 1.7 and 2.0 standard helms only (1,000 psi systems). SeaStar Power Assist Pro is for SeaStar Pro helms only and requires use of Pro Hose (1,500 psi systems). Use only the recommended genuine SeaStar components and oil with SeaStar Power Assist Systems. The perfect upgrade for your outboard, stern drive, or inboard powered boat that is already equipped with hydraulic steering. The new SeaStar Power Assist Steering System is ideal for nearly any boat in which smooth, very easy steering is desired especially vessels in which a high degree of effort is needed to turn the wheel.
