EXHAUST RISER - 3862627 has two purposes: first, it prevents water from backing up into the engine through the exhaust pipe; second, it introduces cooling water into the system of exhaust exit piping. By partially blocking the correct exhaust pipe and routing it through an intake manifold passage, utilized to divert hot exhaust fumes under the carburetor.
