Cooling Water Flow Detector 1-in FPT - 300 Series ADJUSTABLE from 1.5 GPM to 12 GPM
Monitors Raw Water Flow to prevent engine damage due to overheating. It is a two wire, non- polarity switch that is Normally Closed (Normally Open available) and opens at 1.5 to 12 GPM, depending on adjustment of raw water flow. It stays open until flow slows or ceases and then actives any audible or visual boat alarm.
The Aqualarm Cooling Water Flow Detector is unique in the marine electronics industry as a marine alarm, developed and patented specifically a marine engine alarm. It activates an immediate alarm (not included) upon loss of raw water flow to the engine. With today's polluted bays and harbors, it is quite easy to ingest debris or a plastic baggie, interrupting the flow of cool water to the engine. While heat exchanger cooled engines will run several minutes without raw water flow before overheating, during that time significant damage will be done to the engine, raw water pump and exhaust system. The Flow Detector alarms when raw water flow rates fall below a minimum.
